Cuando los vi por primera vez, tan pulcros, tan correctos, tan alejados de esa “mi” imagen surfera medio pasada de largas melenas rubias y tabla al hombro, no pude evitar pensar, “estos chicos son británicos”. Pero, mira por dónde que no. Que al final resultó que esos chicos -los Maroon 5– son más californianos que los Beach Boys.

One More Night pertenece a su cuarto álbum de estudio, Overexposed editado en el verano del año pasado. Tal vez el más pop y “comercial” de todos sus trabajos, es sin duda el álbum que más éxitos y vertiginosas subidas en listas les está proporcionando en sus diez años de carrera. Y, aunque somos muchos quienes añoramos esos primeros sonidos suyos, mucho más personales y menos eléctricos, hay que reconocer que el tema tiene ritmo; ¿quién sabe?, con la versatilidad que les caracteriza seguro que cualquier día nos sorprenden con un retorno a sus orígenes.
