The Kinks fue una banda inglesa de rock, formada por los hermanos Ray y Dave Davies en 1964.  The Kinks está reconocido como uno de los grupos de rock más importantes e influyentes de la época.

Lola es una canción escrita por Ray, que detalla un encuentro romántico entre un chico joven y un travesti que conoce en una discoteca del Soho en Londres. Lanzado en junio de 1970, el single fue sacado del álbum Lola versus Powerman and the Moneyground, Part One.
