La sensación escocesa, Nina Nesbit, acaba de publicar su esperado segundo álbum. La cantante y compositora lanza “The Sun Will Come Up, The Seasons Will Change” a través del legendario sello británico Cooking Vinyl. El nuevo disco nos muestra a una Nina Nesbit radiante, en su mejor momento lírico y musical, algo que llega tras haber obtenido más de 160 millones de reproducciones entre todos sus singles desde que firmó su nuevo contrato con Cooking Vinyl y alcanzó a más de ¡¡¡diez millones!!! de oyentes mensuales en Spotify.
Con motivo del lanzamiento de su segundo LP, Nina Nesbitt también ha compartido un increíble y bonito vídeo para su nuevo single, la canción que quedó en el aire para Rihanna, “Is It Really Me You´re Missing”. El clip lo ha dirigido Debbie Scanlon y fue filmado en Noruega, en un pueblecito helado llamado Eidsvoll, a poca distancia hacia el norte de Oslo. Cuenta una oscura historia de hadas, en la que una mujer espera a un hombre que no aparece nunca. Cuando ella se da cuenta de que a él le da lo mismo una que otra y podría ser ella o cualquiera, se corta su largo pelo y renace como una flor de loto.
La Nina Nesbitt de 2019 no se parece demasiado a la de 2013, ha madurado y ha cobrado consistencia. El álbum lleva nada menos que tres años en producción y no tiene ningún indicio de compromiso previo, de atadura comercial. Nina muestra su talento único para las agudas observaciones líricas y para trenzar melodías que enamoran al oído más duro. Tal y como recientemente había anunciado, la cantante ha tomado una dirección en la que hay unas influencias de pop más obvias y su nuevo disco es un viaje deslumbrante a través de una amplia gama de géneros y estados de ánimo. “Estoy muy orgullosa de este álbum”, comenta la propia artista, “Es el disco que siempre quise hacer siguiendo mis propios impulsos. Es un relato honesto de alguien en sus primeros años de la veintena, que se asoma a la realidad en una vida a menudo muy cambiante”.
Nina, nacida en Livingston, Escocia, en julio de 1994, tiene 24 años nada más y ha conseguido romper muchas barreras. Desde que firmó con Cooking vinyl ha girado por Estados Unidos, compartió tour por Reino Unido con Jake Bugg y con Lewis Capaldi en el que agotó todas las entradas y además ganó un galardón de los SSE Scotish Music Awards. Además, ha sido llamada para colaborar con artistas femeninas emergentes como Sasha Sloan o Charlotte Lawrence.
El nuevo disco ha sido producido por Lostboy (Anne-Marie), Fraser T Smith (Adele, Drake, Gorillaz, Florence + The Machine), Jordan Riley (Macklemore, Zara Larsson) y la propia Nina Nesbitt. A partir de abril comienza una gira por UK para presentar el álbum.
