As Long As I Got You. Lily Allen. Vídeo, letra e información.

Parece que Lily Allen está dispuesta a exprimir al máximo su último disco y sacar prácticamente un single de cada canción que lo integra. Es una estrategia de total aprovechamiento. Si las canciones están bien y pueden tener su propia vida, si hay presupuesto para realizar un videoclip de cada una de ellas, si hay interés entre el público y la prensa no se aburre o le da la espalda, entonces, ¡adelante! Aquí hay una nueva entrega, “As Long As I Got You”, un ejemplo de la capacidad de esta artista para mezclar estilos diferentes y su mentalidad abierta a todo tipo de género musical. Recuerda al clásico criollo “Iko, Iko”, fíjate.

Esta canción es el quinto sencillo que se extrae del álbum “Sheezus” y es una composición de la propia Allen junto a Karen Poole y al productor de casi la totalidad del Lp, Greg Kurstin. Un tema muy pegadizo y colorido, con un rollo tan positivo y optimista que parece un anuncio de telefonía móvil, de compresa alada o de seguro médico familiar. Saltarín.

El videoclip ha sido dirigido por Chris Sweeney, habitual en los clips de Lily, últimamente favorito de artistas de éxito comercial como One Direction o Robbie Willams y que también ha trabajado con Jessie Ware, Rumer o Paloma Faith. En él, se recoge la visita de la cantante a la edición de este año del Festival de Glastonbury, en el que también formó parte del cartel. Una mirada nostálgica por el tiempo que ya pasó (título de la canción) e incluyendo viejas fotografías de la cantante con amigos y familiares y nuevas imágenes filmadas este mismo año. El director busca el lado más lúdico de Lily, que aparece cantando y bailando feliz y despreocupada.

Según la cantante londinense, Glastonbury significa mucho en su vida, allí conoció a su marido, con quien ahora tiene dos hijos, y fue un importante espaldarazo para su carrera musical. Incluso recuerda cuando era una niña y acudía acompañada de su padre, allá por la década del 2000. El tiempo pasa y echar la mirada hacia atrás a veces es algo más que un momento de simple nostalgia, también un necesario ejercicio de recapitulación y evaluación. El optimismo lo pone su música, tan burbujeante e insustancial como la gaseosa. Eso sí, imprescindible para el tinto de verano.
