Los seguidores de “Anatomía de Grey” han podido escuchar su música en varios capítulos, así como los que no se perdían las aventuras de los hermanos Lucas y Nathan de la serie televisiva “One Tree Hill”. Y además, canciones suyas apoyaron las campañas publicitarias de Moviestar en 2010 y del Opel Meriva en 2011.

La neoyorquina Ingrid Michaelson (1979) es hija de un compositor y de una escultora que actualmente dirige el Staten Island Museum. Con cinco años ya tocaba el piano, luego dio clases de canto para educar su voz y finalmente estudió Ciencias de la Dramatización en la Universidad de Binghamton, algo que contribuye a realzar su puesta en escena.

Su debut discográfico se produjo en 2005 con «Slow The Rain», un disco autoeditado. En 2006 ficha con el sello Cabin 24 Records y publica “Girls And Boys”, al que siguieron “Be Ok”, “Everybody” y “Human Again” en 2012. El próximo 15 de Abril publica su sexto álbum “Lights Out” y con él se embarcará en una larga gira de promoción por Canadá y Estados Unidos hasta principios de verano.

Según cuenta Ingrid, “Girls Chase Boys” empezó siendo simplemente una canción algo rompedora, pero terminó teniendo un enfoque más profundo y con un pensamiento central: no importa cómo o a quién amamos, en el fondo todos somos iguales.

El video juega con los arcaicos estereotipos que todos nos hemos formado y plantea que chicos y chicas se buscan unos a otros, o entre sí, porque al fin y al cabo todos quieren la misma cosa: amor. Una burla de los roles de género y, además, una parodia con bastante sentido del humor de los ochenteros y machistas clips de Robert Palmer. Pop con mucha clase.
