La menor de los diez hermanos Jackson entre los que se contaban los Jackson 5 con el mismísimo Michel Jackson, es hoy una de las mujeres más ricas del mundo de la música.

Como el resto de sus hermanos,  con tan sólo dieciséis años firmó con A&M Records para el lanzamientos de su primer álbum. Corría 1982 y vería la luz el disco con su nombre, Janet Jackson. Era el comienzo de una carrera que la convertiría en un mito musical y… erótico. Tanto en sus discos como en sus vídeos, Janet explota su sensualidad, aunque una larga depresión la llevó a The Velvet Rope, que vería la luz en 1999, un trabajo introspectivo y profundo en el que se incluía este tema cuyos beneficios donaría a The Foundation for AIDS Research.
