Cantante, compositor y rapero, Elliot John Gleave es un inglés nacido en Fullham, Londres, y más conocido por su nombre artístico, Example, un alias que proviene de sus iniciales E.G., que en latín son la abreviatura de la frase exempli gratia, por ejemplo.

Gleave debutó en el mundo de la música en 2007 con un primer álbum titulado “What We Made”, aunque fue tres años más tarde, con su siguiente disco “Won´t Go Quietly”, cuando consiguió entrar en las listas británicas y convertirse en una de las principales lumbreras de la música de baile en el Reino Unido.

Su quinto álbum en estudio se editará el próximo 23 de junio y llevará por título “Live Life Living”. Gleave no ha querido realizar ninguna colaboración o aparición en discos de otros artistas durante todo el proceso de grabación, para centrarse totalmente en su nuevo trabajo discográfico, el cual, por cierto, que no incluirá ningún rap. Según ha adelantado el propio músico, en este nuevo Lp ha incluido elementos de big beat, rave de los 90 o acid house y podremos sentir la influencia que han ejercido sobre él otras bandas como The Chemical Brothers, Faithless, Underworld o The Prodigy.

“One More Day (Stay With Me)” es un tema potente, de esos que entra con facilidad y se queda incrustado en el cerebelo, donde se repite una y otra vez. Bailable, positivo, casi eufórico. El videoclip, dirigido por Adam Powell, que también ha hecho buenos trabajos con el grupo The 1975, está grabado en la playa de Brighton -posiblemente la peor playa del mundo- y nos muestra a un grupo de amigos disfrutando de una noche de camaradería y diversión, que tiene su remate glorioso gracias a un encuentro casual con sus héroes musicales. Concierto y reunión en el camerino como colofón.

Example como banda, con toda la formación, estará presente este verano en el Festival Internacional de Benicássim, el día 19 de julio, pero además Gleave ya tiene cerradas hasta el 18 de septiembre catorce fechas como Example & DJ Wire, para pinchar y animar las noches veraniegas de Ibiza y a Mallorca. Hasta que el cuerpo aguante.
