Este single y vídeo de Morgan es el segundo adelanto de su próximo álbum.
Se han creado muchas expectativas alrededor del nuevo larga duración de la banda madrileña Morgan. Capitaneado por la cantante Carolina de Juan, más conocida como Nina, el grupo tiene preparado un nuevo disco, el tercero en estudio, el cuarto en su discografía, que aún no tiene fecha de publicación definitiva. Si anteriormente adelantaron la canción “Alone”, un tema algo difuso, casi eterno y pelín aburrido (aunque muy bien hecho y montado, pero demasiado difuso, perdido). Ahora Morgan nos muestran otro corte más del próximo disco con “River”, una canción mucho más elaborada, más emocionante, con mucho más nervio.
La canción tiene un profundo sabor a soul sureño, con multitud de coros casi espirituales (muy espirituales), aromas de los bosques sureños de la América profunda, la del norte, claro. Americana, folk, pop, rock, soul… todos los territorios son accesibles para músicos libres, para los componentes de Morgan. Así es “River”, una canción que además viene acompañado de un bonito vídeo dirigido por Juan García y cuyo guion es de Nina, el propio director y el guitarrista y cantante de la banda Paco López.
El nuevo álbum de estudio de Morgan es un conjunto de diez canciones en las que empezaron a trabajar tras el confinamiento y con la misma filosofía de siempre: coger unas cuantas ideas y trastear para vestirlas tratando de explorar un poco más los ambientes, conceptos y sonidos.
Tras casi un año de trabajo viajaron a Francia, al estudio Le manoir de Léon, junto a Campi Campón en la producción, para grabar durante dos semanas.
Está mezclado por Stuart White (Beyoncé, Autolux) en Los Ángeles y masterizado por Colin Leonard (SING mastering) en Atlanta, GA. “The River And The Stone” es el resultado de muchas conversaciones, muchas horas de creación conjunta y, sobre todo, de disfrutar de hacer música con amigos.
Morgan se formó en Madrid en 2012 de la mano de Nina, Paco López, el batería Ekain Elorza, el teclista David Schulthess y el bajista Alejandro Ovejero, quien abandonó la alineación en febrero de este mismo año. Según Nina, Morgan se define `como una banda que hace canciones y les gusta tocar´. Lo que no es poco.
El primer disco de Morgan fue autoeditado, se tituló “North”, lo produjo José Nortes (Ariel Rot, Quique González, Coque Malla) y se publicó en febrero de 20216. De los trece cortes que conformaban el álbum, doce estaban cantados en inglés y uno, “Volver”, estaba en castellano. El disco fue poco a poco conquistando al público y la prensa hasta que, un año después de su aparición, fue reeditado y consiguió ser uno de los álbumes más vendidos en 2017.
Su segundo disco, producido de nuevo por Nortes, se tituló “Air” y apareció el 16 de marzo de 2018. De nuevo repiten la fórmula: ocho canciones en inglés y uno, “Sargento De Hierro”, en castellano. El álbum fue un verdadero éxito y con el consiguieron multitud de premios y reconocimientos, además de unas jugosas ventas.
Cuando a principios de este año anunciaron su tercer paso por el estudio para registrar un nuevo álbum, también comunicaron la marcha del bajista Alejandro Ovejero, así como la publicación de un álbum grabado en directo, en el Price en enero de 2020 titulado “Home (Live At Circo Price)”.
Parece ser que el nuevo bajista será Alejandro Climent (M Clan, Señor Mostaza). Morgan siguen imparables hacia su consolidación en el firmamento musical español.
