Una casualidad de esas que se da en la vida hizo que este tejano que vivió hasta la adolescencia en Caracas fuera descubierto durante una prueba de sonido en California. Atrás quedaban para Devendra Banhart los años del San Francisco Art Institute o su aventura parisina para pasar a un primer plano de reconocimiento en el mundo de la música. Como curiosidad, Devendra es uno de los nombres que se le da al Señor de los Dioses y del cielo del hinduismo: Indra. Baby se incluye en su último disco «What will we be» de 2009.
